Every heard that before? Someone tells you to “Just take a deep breath.” Not always easy to do in the moment especially if you are in a high emotional state. You may look at the person and say something like “Are you kidding me? Take a deep breath right now?! I am all……fill in the blank….at the moment!” And yet learning to take a deep breath when you are in a high emotional state is powerful calming tool. However it is a tool that takes time to learn and apply in different life circumstances. But it is a calming tool that is well worth the effort to learn. So the next time someone tells you to “Just take a deep breath,” I encourage you to “pause” for a moment and just try it. Just take a deep breath and see what happens. You never know. You may be surprised at the results you get from “just taking a deep breath.”
