Ignore or Acknowledge?

“Just ignore it. It’ll go away. Or just get over it.”  Every heard either one of these before? Most of us have at some point in our lives and it usually revolves around our feelings. Especially our negative feelings. Most of us are taught in one way or the other to ignore our “bad” feelings. That we are only “supposed” to feel our “good feelings” and yet feelings are neither good nor bad, they just “are.” Feelings are there to help us navigate life. The good stuff and the not so good stuff. And yet we are “taught” to ignore these “bad” feelings. So how does that work out for us? Not so well. We may have insomnia, nightmares or night terrors. We may have digestive issues, migraine headache, backaches, neck aches, and the list goes on and on. All because we are trying to ignore something that is ACTUALLY there. Your feelings, good or bad, are there no matter what you do to try to ignore them. All you are doing is adding more energy (emotion) to the energy (emotion) that is already present. No wonder this DOESN’T work out all for us. How does one ignore something that is actually present? You don’t. You may think you are ignoring it and it is going away, however if this was actually the case, then why do the “bad” feelings keep coming back? It is because ignoring them doesn’t work. Period. So what about just acknowledging the feelings that are present, even the “bad” feelings? What if you just recognize that you are experiencing “bad” feelings at the moment at that is all you need to do in the moment? What if? What if acknowledging the feelings, good and bad, allows you too not to add extra energy (emotion) to the present energy but rather be able to accept that those energies (emotions) are there. Nothing more nothing less. What if? Consider this for a moment.

This is where the power of horse guided coaching is very effective for people to start learning how to stop ignoring their feelings and start acknowledging the feelings. You can lie to yourself all day long however you cannot lie to a horse. For more information on horse guided coaching visit www.spiritmountainhealing.com
