When we have faced adversity, been pushed to the edge in our lives, and chose to step back from the edge, we must take time for our recovery. We must take time to assess our “wounds” and take the necessary time to heal. Life is a process of wounds, healing, and recovery. If we do not take time for our recovery, we will keep getting pushed to the edge and may possibly go over the edge. If we go over the edge, recovery may not be possible. That is why stepping back from the edge is the first step towards recovery.
