It is scary, taking down the walls that we have built around our hearts. And yet if we are to truly live and love, then we must make the decision to take down our walls. It is not an easy process. Nothing that is worthwhile in life is easy but I know from experience it is worth the effort. How we start taking down our walls is an individual process and yet it always starts with a conscious decision to start taking down the walls. For most of us, that process is brick by brick. Sometimes, big pieces of the wall come crashing down all at once and we find ourselves overwhelmed in the moment. It is at this time, we must stop and take a break. We must rest and recover so we can continue onward with the process. It is okay to take breaks and rest. It is a necessary part of the process. What is not okay, is stopping completely and walking away from a process that is not complete. It is from a place of inner courage that we continue on with taking down our walls. And one day, we find ourselves living life with boundaries but not walls. And that is when we know that all the hard work we put into taking down our walls, was worth everything.
Namaste, my friends.
