Betrayal is a painful thing. It cuts to the core of one’s heart. It wounds like nothing else. It robs one of trust. Trust of self and others. It robs one of safety. It robs one of self worth and self confidence. It robs one of one’s life. Of one’s purpose in life. It is the opposite of hope. It is darkness. It is lack of hope. And betrayal robs one of the desire to go on. Betrayal is the ultimate pain and it shuts one down to the desire to continue living life.
